The fishing went really well this time around,

 

although the first week was hot,

 

and the second week not!

 

I caught my first Bluefin Trevally about 12 pounds

 

and my biggest GT to date at around 50 pounds.

 

All my best GTs over 15 pounds and biggest hookup/bustoffs

 

came on my home-made wooden 멠roper Poppers??

 

all turned, drilled, strung, filled, sanded,

wildly painted and fitted with serious hooks in Turner's garage in LA.

 

I can heave proper Poppers?up to 80 meters; and speed-retrieved behind

waves they are a scream to hook up on.

 

Lots of slashing and boiling surface chases

 

as big GTs home in on the erratic stick bait,

 

fully switched on to attack mode,

 

and sometimes even following the lure right up to your feet!

 

밐it it! Hit it you bastard!!?

 

For me it doesn't get any better than this.

 

Tricking big fish at close range on tackle I make

myself is a great satisfaction.

 

 I gave re-weighted ulua Hunter?

 

and Singaporean white Rabbit?

 

chugger poppers, 멢anger?plugs and crocodile?spoons

 

and others more than equal time,

 

and all worked on the day,

 

but my lures kicked ass!
