Marlin University 2007 is off to a rip roaring start!
Costa Rica saw lots of action. All told, the four boat fleet managed to catch over 40 sails, and six marlin. One boat caught a grand slam, a blue, a stripe and a sail in one day, and another fellow almost caught his own personal grand slam but backlashed the blue marlin that would have given him the slam. On my boat we caught three marlin over the four days of fishing including two stripes and a 400-pound black marlin.  It was definitely action packed.
We have 3 other classes this year, one of them is coming up pretty soon which still has several spots available. Here¡¯s the run-down:

Land¡¯s End, Cabo san Lucas, Mexico          May 11 – 16, 2007           Cost $5,500
Cabo San Lucas marks the point where the stark desert beauty ends and the bounty of the sea begins. Also known as Land¡¯s End, Cabo San Lucas transformed itself from a sleepy fishing village to one of the most exciting big-game destinations in world by virtue of an incredibly abundant striped marlin fishery. We typically catch several nice stripies, but a flurry of blue marlin bites is not uncommon. Cabo also offers up some of the wildest nightlife you¡¯ll find anywhere, so grab your favorite party shirt and come on down to Cabo!

St. Thomas          July 20 – 25, 2007                                                    Cost $6,500
Every summer the waters off the east end of St. Thomas swarm with the bait that gathers along the edge of the North Drop. Deepwater currents collide with this world-renowned ledge and force nutrient-rich water to the surface, sparking a bloom of algae and plankton that sustain a huge population of bait fish and the predators that feed upon them. Three-, four- and five-fish days occur frequently during summer months when the world's best marlin fishermen come to Red Hook to tussle with big blues.

The Great Barrier Reef            November 12 – 18, 2007                       Cost $8,900
A trip to Cairns represents the Holy Grail of big-game fishing trips. Ask any mate on the water and he¡¯ll tell you that the grander black season in Australia is the World Series, Super Bowl and Masters tournament all rolled into one. We fish for five days in Australia on the Great Barrier Reef, never leaving the safety and comfort of our live aboard mothership, which stays within a 20-minute run of our game boats as they follow the bite up and down the reef. Fish with Peter B. Wright on his charter boat and watch him run the boat on fish approaching 1,000 pounds! This special session only accommodates 12 students, so act now to reserve your spot. It doesn¡¯t get any better than this!

We take care of everything except your round trip airfare. So come join us for one of these outstanding classes while you enjoy the company of fellow anglers who share your passion for big game billfishing.
